ULBH Tideway Steering Test

ULBH Tideway Steering Test

ULBH asks all club members who row out of ULBH to complete their steering and safety test.  The test is for all athletes to make sure that they have sufficient awareness of the Tideway rules and PLA Code.

The link to the steering test can be found here:

https://forms.gle/T2vgw6uLagtFPPt96

All ULBH rowers (and anyone rowing on this section of the river) are required to take and pass an Annual Safety test every autumn. The test is multiple choice. Most of the answers can be found in the PLA Tideway Code, which can be found below, and here.

If you are unsure of an answer to a question you can use Google or look at the Tideway Code whilst doing the test.

You can complete the test at the same time as someone else and in groups. The point of the test is to improve your understanding of how to safely operate on the river. The pass mark is 44/51 – approx. 85%. You can take the test more than once.

Please complete and pass the test by FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 29th

Please let me know when you have done it and what your pass rate was. This test is mandatory, regardless of whether you have completed it before or if you have done our own TTRC steering test, those are in addition to the ULBH steering test, NOT instead of.
